Environmental Sustainability
Working in an industry reliant on trees, we believe it is critical to minimize our carbon footprint as much as possible. At Michigan Pallet, we hold ourselves responsible for implementing environmentally friendly practices.
About Our Efforts
From sourcing our lumber to shipment, we are constantly implementing new methods of making the most of the trees we use.
Select Cut Lumber
To minimize waste and support healthy forests, we practice selective cutting. This method helps open up the canopy, allowing sunlight to reach new growth and promote a thriving ecosystem.
2 Saw Mills
Michigan Pallet has two sawmills in Michigan. This reduces our carbon footprint when it comes to shipping our cut stock. Fewer trucks that travel a shorter distance help the environment in numerous ways.
Recycle
All by-products from our sawmills are recycled. Sawdust, wood chips, and bark are collected and recycled so that no part of the wood is left unused.
Recycle, Round 2
After CANTS are sent to our sawmills, we refine the wood further so the by-products from that process are recycled.
Pallet Production
The technology involved in our pallet production process is unique in that we use state-of-the-art machinery and equipment, engineered specifically for our needs. This improves our efficiency and lowers your pallet cost.
Logistics
Our shipping division, Michigan Pallet Logistics, is fully equipped with the latest trucks that meet or exceed federal emission requirements.
Reuse + Recycle
Recycled Pallets
Recycled pallets offer a cost-effective and eco-friendly solution for your shipping needs. By reusing pallets, we reduce energy use, conserve resources, and streamline production. This not only allows us to offer a more competitive price but also helps create a greener future for everyone.
Mulching & Recycling
We are committed to using every last piece of wood efficiently, which is why we’ve made significant investments in our wood recovery system. This allows us to achieve our goal of repurposing 100% of our wood into recycled products.
Our wood recovery system allows us to collect scraps from our sawmills and manufacturing areas, blow them into our semi-trucks, and ship them for reuse.
Our dust collection system helps us reuse 280 yards of dust per day.
