About Our Efforts
From sourcing our lumber, to shipment, we are constantly implementing new methods of making the most of the trees we use.
Select Cut Lumber
To ensure we don’t use more than we need, we select-cut our trees. This is beneficial to the forests as it opens the forest so new growth can enjoy the sunlight.
2 Saw Mills
Michigan Pallet has two Michigan sawmills. This reduces our carbon footprint when it comes to shipping our cut stock. Fewer trucks that travel a shorter distance helps the environment in numerous ways.
All by-products from our sawmills are recycled. Sawdust, wood chips and bark are collected and recycled so absolutely no part of the wood is left unused.
Recycle, Round 2
After CANTS are sent to our sawmills, we refine the wood further so the by-products from that process are recycled.
The technology involved in our pallet production process is unique in that we use state-of-the-art machinery and equipment, engineered specifically for our needs. This improves our efficiency, lowering your pallet cost.
Our shipping division, called Michigan Pallet Logistics, is fully equipped with the latest trucks that meet or exceed federal emission requirements.
Reuse + Recycle
Recycled pallets are a cost effective and environmentally friendly route for your pallet needs. By reusing pallets, every step of our process requires less energy, resources and time. We are then able to provide you with a more competitive price and a greener environment for all of us.
Mulching + RecyclingAt Michigan Pallet we are dedicated to making the most of every last piece of wood we use, which is why we invested significantly in our wood recovery system. This has helped us achieve our goal of using 100% of our wood for recycled products.
Our wood recovery system allows us to procure all scraps from our saw mills and manufacturing areas, blow it into semi trucks and ship it for reuse.
Our dust collection system helps reuse 280 yards of dust per day.
